In the Spring, you can easily find rejuvenation suggestions for your home in the form of Spring cleaning. But, how about us? Don’t we deserve some Spring cleaning of our own? A rejuvenating spa day is the cure! Keep reading for my idea of a perfect spa day at home.
1. Take Shower
I don’t feel like I can accomplish anything without a shower. Any I Love Lucy fans reading this? Pre-shower, I feel like a post-Phipps makeover! In all seriousness, a shower is one of the most important things you can do to foster good mental health.
2. Get Dressed
Here’s the challenge: NO leggings! But, still be comfortable. My Grace and Lace “Happy Pants” feel like leggings but look like jeans. And, there is a real zipper and button so I totally count them as REAL pants! They are the best things ever. (Plus, they’re on sale!) Paired with the ultra cozy Bambu Wrap Up, and I am comfortable enough to feel relaxed but dressed enough to feel like I can be productive!
3. Create a Pretty Space in your Home
Something that always makes me feel good about myself is accomplishing something. Laying around all day does not feel good to me. In fact, that makes me even more tired and lazy. So, I challenge you to find a space in your home where you can complete the next few self-care tasks.
Maybe you have a favorite chair. Can you set the space up with a blanket, pull over a lamp, grab a fold up table, and maybe even set out a vase with flowers in it? Maybe you have a desk that has piles of paper stacked on top of it. Can you clear the desk by filing, throwing out, and decorating? Not only will you feel productive, but you will now have a quiet, comfortable, and pretty space to continue your rejuvenation! For me, it was this reading nook.
4. Paint Your Nails
One of the Spring 2020 Pantones is Coral Pink. Although Essie’s “Ballet Slippers” is far more translucent, it reminded me of this on trend color. Since you likely aren’t able to leave the house right now, and while I know doing your own nails is never the same as going to the salon, this is something that can make you feel somewhat normal again since showering, getting dressed, and having your nails done, are all things that are done when you have some place to go! Even though you aren’t going anywhere, don’t underestimate the importance of how you feel when you have these things done!
Gratitude Challenge: As you paint each nail, think of one thing you are grateful for. Not only will this bring you joy and appreciation, but it will also allow you to be more present in the moment and hopefully tune out any distractions that may be fighting for your attention.
5. Drink Some Tea
Chammomile is a tea that always relaxes me.
6. Do Yoga

7. Take a Bath
I suggest finding a seasonal scent bubble bath wash and allowing the aromas to immerse you in the season!
8. Read a Book
Currently, I am reading Sunrise Cabin by Stacey Donovan.
Tips to make it work:
-Do you have kids? These 8 spa day items don’t need to be completed in one day! Do you Spring Clean in one day? If you do, I’m impressed; it took me two weeks to complete my Spring Cleaning to do list. Pick the items that make you feel the best and do those early in the morning, during nap time, or after your kids have gone to sleep. The next day, pick a few more. By the time you complete the list, you’ll still reap the same benefits as someone who completes this list in one day.
